Job Description 

Praxis is a systems engineering company with a global client base which operates in the Rail, Aerospace, Defence and Nuclear markets.

We have a number of key accounts in the rail sector and now have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and energetic Rail Practice Lead to manage our overall rail competence to ensure that we maintain a competitive edge and continue to grow our market share in this important area of our business.

It is an exciting time to join us as the successful candidate will have exposure to some of new and interesting rail projects we have recently been successful in winning.

Job Role
Practices are a tool for Praxis which brings together critical parties within the organisation to develop a strategic approach to the Rail business, share best practice, create a forum for generating ideas for engineering advancement, discussing new opportunities/niches and managing Rail competence.

The job of the Rail Practice Lead is therefore to be responsible overall for managing all railway competence in the business (multi-disciplinary), training for the relevant staff, knowledge management, development, advancement and innovation with respect to Praxis' Rail-related offers and cost control of the relevant activities and budget.

Education and training

This role will have four different aspects:

  • Consultancy.
  • Chargeable work.
  • Practice Leadership and Management.
  • Support to Business Development.

Experience

  • Chartered Engineer with degree qualified.
  • Preferable to have help key roles within Engineering organisations and have active involvement in industry bodies.
  • Attained or working towards Fellow of an appropriate institution with relevant, supporting work experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge across a number of railway discipline areas. Preference is to have significant experience within the Signalling, Command and Control discipline.
